Shame.

The wall of ice that protected her soul
Melted when you lit her flame
However, you walked away
And agonized by shame
She lay dry and empty
Comforted merely by apathy
You took all she had
But gladly she gave? Mad.
You lit that fire
And left it to burn in the mire
Feeding on her soul it did
For other food you closed the lid
There she stood alive
But dead inside.
